So I like Clamps a lot.

So I have been making these pine and plywood lamination peices at work as sorta an excercise in doodlying in wood, but they are looking like they will end up being funiture, I also have some ideas for some sculptural shelves and things.  The whole series sorta started when I needed to make a thank you gift for my buddy who downloaded me like 6 months of audio books making work much more enjoyable and my trying to find ways to use some of the truely horrifying amount of scrap we produce at my job.  Also I have been tryign to take more pictures of things in process.  Mostly so I will have more things to bore all the people who don't read my blog, which I don't update often enough anyway.

This is a series of peices in progress.
This will eventually sort of match the more finished table you will see in a few more images

Table top early stages

table leg step 1

Table leg step... let see.  Cut plywood, laminate plywood, drill holes with forstner bit, cut laminated plywood glue in strips of pine
Step 5 table leg

I don't think the legs are actually attached in these shots but oh well,  I used screws and 1/2 dowls to cover the screws, so five half in circles per leg, matching the five 2 circles in the legs.  Sort of anyway.  In theory the first image will match this table in height and size, and get the same legs but with the ratio of pine to plywood switched.

Two process shots for next peice

These last two peices are both, Pine, Plywood and Cast glass and end up on the wall eventually
